Love it or hate it

As a trained graphic designer whose main goal for years was to create work that was above all highly accessible and enjoyable to consume, my inner critic is quite challenged that I create and share art that is so much more outspoken.

But it’s okay.

Because that’s life. You can’t please everyone. I’m increasingly learning that the urge to make and experience everything as comfortable as possible in order to not stir up others, paradoxically keeps each other small.

It’s a trauma reflex, that runs so deep in many of us.

Learning to shift those thoughts and feelings by being okay with the full spectrum of what life brings us, from white to black and back, is actually how we truly serve. Ourselves and others.

Maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to this combination 🙂
