About me
There is something magical about forms that you never quite grasp. And perhaps we are all looking for a little more of that. For beauty that continues to surprise you
Hi, I am Cora, an artist and designer who loves to explore how organic shapes spark something deep in you.
The human quest in this life can be challenging. Deep down we all crave connection and truth, but it can be hard to find this in our day to day life.
For me drawing is a way to connect to this truth. When I draw I feel a deep presence. My mind takes a backseat and I surrender to whatever wants to emerge through me. Every line is an intuitive move. Limiting beliefs and conditions that normally run my life, vanish. What’s left is just pure intention.
People tell me that when they engage with my art, that presence is being felt. It mirrors the calmness and beauty that is present within themselves. My art works as a portal to reconnect to those qualities.
I see my art as a service. A way to help people find their way back to beauty, calmness and creativity, even if it is just a short moment in their day, because many sparks combined eventually will become a burning fire.
To explore this service my art takes many forms. It can just be drawings that I sell, but I also love to come up with exciting new ways for people to engage with my art, like my visual meditations.
A large proportion of my work is dedicated to collaborations with businesses and brands in all kinds of different fields, like interior design, music, healthcare and food.
My art ranges from surface design, murals, branded illustrations, custom artworks, animation, meditation art, breathwork videos and at this very moment the excited area of furniture design. Less is bore 🙂

Do your art!
I also believe wholeheartedly in the value of creativity as a form of nourishment. Not just for the people who encounter the work, but for the people who make it. That belief runs through everything I do and it is what I write about on Substack, when I am not making art. For instance, here you can read my story about how jealousy made me enroll in art. This personal story is also part of my book Do your art!.
If you want to create something meaningful, I’d love to be part of how it looks and feels. Let’s talk!
What you should know about me
- After Art School (Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam) I ended up working 9 years in Health Care as a creative coach for people with mental disabilities and brain damage. I witnessed how resilient people can be and also how important it is for human beings to explore creativity.
- While doing this I started freelancing as a brand consultant and independent graphic designer. I have 22+ years experience with thinking in concepts, solving visual problems, and helping brands communicate who they are.
- I suspect I am an old soul, that by mistake ended up being born in 1979. In my heart I live 120 yrs earlier though, when Art Nouveau thrived 🙂
- When I am not making art or writing, I am a weeding our vegetable garden, thrifting treasures from the past or walking with our Tibetan Terrier Marley. Marley and I live together with my partner and 2 sons in a village next to Rotterdam.
Art is a personal act of courage, something one human does, that creates change in another.
Art isn’t only a painting. Art is anything that’s creative, personal and passionate.
And great art resonates with the viewer, not only with the creator.
