My work is not about decoration, it’s about activation

‘Visuals aren’t just nice to look at, they are portals. If done well, they activate something in you that always was meant to be awakened.’

Hi, I am Cora and I am here to move between worlds in order to move something in you.

Some call me an artist, some call me a designer. Others call me a visual alchemist.

Whatever I do it always starts with me making intuitive drawings that have a distinct organic voice. I don’t sketch upfront, it’s just me being very present to whatever source wants to metabolize through me. After that I leave the drawings just like they are, or I turn them into prints, interior pieces, visual identities or meditative videos.

What comes out isn’t decoration. It’s a trace of truth. You’ll feel it before you can explain it: a deep recognition, a relaxation of your shoulders or a clarity of your thoughts.

This is because your subconscious responds to organic form before the mind forms an opinion about it. It awakens remembrance and makes you feel seen. This response is ancient, and it’s this response I live for, whether it’s making a single ink drawing or designing a full identity for a personal brand.

My series of visual meditations is the clearest proof of this: within seconds, a person’s body shifts from stress to calm, without a single word being spoken.

Through the years I have noticed that my work is not for everyone and that’s okay. I am here for the people that understand that my work isn’t a technical skill. It is spiritual. If that’s you, my guess is you crave for depth, just like me.

Curious what my work can shift for you? Let’s talk.

Cora has the art of visualizing things for which you yourself do not yet have words or forms. She listens between the lines, asks sharp and insightful questions, and knows how to make new connections so that your puzzle becomes complete.

If you are considering collaborating with Cora, know that you truly get what you experience. Open. Sincere. Creative. Unconventional. Conscious. Space. Direction. Calm.

What I found incredibly pleasant about working with Cora is that she senses what you need incredibly quickly. Cora is an excellent conceptual thinker, and her designs support what you want to communicate.

I love to work with Cora, she brings in Calm Vibes, where I teach people to unstress and focus. So here work makes the world better just as mine does. Let’s work together to make more of it.

A bit more about me

Besides making visual work I love to dive into the subject of creativity and activate as many people as possible to explore their creative potential to the fullest. I truly believe that when every human would do so, this world would be a far better place for every living being.

If this sparks something in you, visit my Substack or read my book Do your art!

I have been active in the creative world as a student, graphic designer, artist and entrepreneur for 30 years now. During my career I also worked in health care as a creative coach for nine years, coaching people with brain injuries and people with mental disabilities. I am deeply in awe about the resilience people possess and how creativity is a true catalyst to cope with the challenges life brings.

When I am not making visual work or writing, I am picking Rosemary in my herb garden, walking Marley, our very stubborn Tibetan Terrier, thrifting weird German pottery or listening to records of Massive Attack together with my partner and two teenage sons. Together we live in a nice town, 10 minutes away by bike from our beloved city of Rotterdam.

Art is a personal act of courage, something one human does, that creates change in another.

Art isn’t only a painting. Art is anything that’s creative, personal and passionate.

And great art resonates with the viewer, not only with the creator.
