In the 30+ years I have been moving through the creative world as a student, designer, artist and entrepreneur, I noticed that there runs a cycle at the base of every creation process, whether this is work related, business related or something you do for fun. If you know that cycle, creating becomes so much more effortless, fun and light.
To help you with this, I developed an interactive book ‘Do your art!’
This book is all about turning your talents into reality by merging body, mind and soul.
We often think that we, as humans, walk a linear path from point A to point B, but that is only an illusion. Just as the sun, the moon, the stars, and the seas move in repeating patterns, so do we as humans. Just think of a woman’s menstrual cycle.
The way we create also follows a certain cycle. That cycle repeats itself time and again. There is an underlying structure to every creative process you go through, regardless of whether you are a beginner or an experienced creator.
You can view this cycle as an ecosystem, where all phases are equally important and play a role in achieving a specific result, after which the next cycle can be completed.
This is a cycle that I see recurring in all my creation processes, the big ones and the small ones, and also in those of the many people I have helped over the past years. Sometimes I even go through this cycle several times a day!
This cycle has three phases:
1. Acknowledge
2. Soften
3. Embody
Phase 1 is about acknowledging your talents. This phase is about radical honesty regarding your soul’s desire.
Phase 2 is about overcoming the hurdles to experiencing your soul’s desire in reality. In my book, that is not about pushing or willpower, but rather about how you can do this in a powerful way from a place of gentleness.
Phase 3 is about embodying your talent in practice.
In this book, I invite you to immediately integrate the material I share in the three phases.
